BM Ground Floor Reception Refurbishment
The Challenge
To carry out a complete refurbishment of the entrance to our building. As it was the only useable entrance to our office the refurbishment had to be incorporate the flow of Baker McKenzie personnel and visiting guest traffic whilst maintaining a hidden finish from all to view until hand over.
The Solution
SLG carried out a scaffold installation within the entrance of the reception creating a working platform at first floor level and created an encapsulating high-level customer facing hoarding to conceal the scaffold supports. SLG also installed a false lay in grid ceiling including lighting to conceal the platform above, this was carried out over one weekend. The reception floor was carpeted throughout the project to conceal the floor finishing phased changes. Outside of business hours the project came alive, false coverings were removed and sub surfaces were enhanced in line with the project design then re-hidden prior to staff arrival. A false removable facade was manufactured off site and was installed within a short space of time following the removal of the existing entrance. This allowed for the removal of the front elevation allowing the proposed entrance to commence. Following the installation of the new entrance the temporary build was disposed of.
The Benefits
Receiving a newly formed reception that represented the company brand. Delivered in such a way that it did not change or disrupt the day to day business in any way, the global response from our visiting guests has been amazing.
